Inspiring The Next Generation – SRC HQ Visit

This September we were very excited to welcome the Southern Regional College (SRC) from Newry to our HQ. The aim of the day was to inspire the next generation of employees and to spread awareness of what our fantastic business has to offer to the local students.

The day started with a quick bus trip from the College to our Banbridge HQ – where the Students where greeted by many of the EOS team. The trip kicked off by an introduction to the business and our history from Barry Strain, with a theme of; the key to success at EOS is ‘not a university degree but having the right attitude to get the work done’! We then took a quick break for a delicious breakfast of fresh scones, pastries and sandwiches. The mic was then handed to Christopher Stevenson from our recruitment team who carried on the message set by Barry and explored what opportunities could come up in the future with EOS.

After our introductions we broke into 3 group sessions, which led the team around the building to different meeting rooms to hear from team members from a variety of departments. First stop was our Down meeting room to hear from Paul Keenan (Field Operations Liaison) & Patrick Campbell (Senior Field Operations Coordinator) about the opportunities for field technicians and the vital role the travel team have within the business. Next stop was the design team representatives; Gary Bagnall (AV Project Manager) & James Whan (CAD/Revit Engineer Intern) – they gave an overview of the inner workings of our brilliant design team and their career paths. James (previous SRC student) gave insight into how his education at SRC led him to university and gaining a placement with EOS. The final stop was Adele Loughran (Global Operations Manager) & Ciara Garvey (Business Operations Intern) from our Sales + Procurement team. Adele also a previous student of the SRC was a great example to the students of what you can achieve after completing a course with the SRC and the diverse opportunities that can come your way with hard work.

Thank you to all team members who participated in the day, it was a great success all round – we received excellent feedback from the SRC and students who attended;

“I enjoyed learning about how some of the IT tasks where done and hearing where the staff started from and how they got involved with EOS”

“I enjoyed the part where we got to go around and get to know about the options we have and the things that they do everyday and how it is done.”

A special thank you to Patrick Campbell the team at the SRC for making this happen, we look forward to future opportunities to speak with students!
